    Destroying CD's How?

Hey we've got a bunch of cds at work we are trying to destroy and I was wondering what brillant ideas you guys can come up with. Just scratching them doesn't work, as can still read data.

Other ideas include: microwaving, cutting up with scissors, putting a concrete mixer with some stones, etc.

scratch the TOP of them... thats where the data is... under the lable bit...
I put stickers on the ones at work, then peel it off later and it pulls the layers off with it

burnt my nephew a cd a few years back and he scratched his name into the top one wrecked CD

Get a hedge clippings type shredder from Hirequip but I'm with Merv 'cos if involves loud noises and guns it has to be good.

Another one of been told is glue them together into one solid stack, creates art work at the same time.

Microwave them, then you get a bit of entertainment while you're toasting them. Just turn the lights off first though

Sell them to truckies so they can place them across their truck dash to 'absorb' the radar rays and hence avoid getting speed tickets! l.o.l. x 10 !

fold them until they split can work. The data is still there but you must be really nuts to put broken CD into your CD drive.
Make sure the pieces have some jagged edges. The rougher the better.
Or you can always make a bonfire and burn them.

Look up the captian cooks cook book for the best recipe book for making explosives and go to your chemist and get some sulphr and look up how to make the bombs. Or go to your local pool makers and try get some jellignite......... that will remove the data

Shouldn't take much to melt them down. Biff them in somebody's backyard incinerator with a few tree trimmings, that'll do the job nicely.

I believe there are some companies around that specialise in secure disposal of various data media. You might like to check the Yellow Pages.

This is KiwiBiker - it has to be a bike-related means. I suggest a burnout while someone (brave) feeds them into the spinning back tyre. If you were really cunning, you could also incorprate this with the skeet-shooting idea.
    ... and that's what I think.

Well if it's bike related. What about melting them so they mold to make some new fairings. That would look quite interesting.
