one thing i read bout the monster is...... that you can fry the eletrics if the battary is on a low charge.
Really? It wouldn't surprise me, with Italian electrics being the way they are. I'll have to keep an eye on the battery- since the bike is only used about once a month, it isn't exactly in good nick. Thanks!

The Oxford battery 'Oximiser' battery tender thingy? I guess I should look at getting something like that... money money money

Cool bananas

Speaking of "cool bananas" - you should find some way to incorporate those leedle monkeys that are lying on the concrete by the bike. I'm sure they'd make it more fasterer.
Oh yeah - it's not right that you can have such a kewl bike just for playing on the racetrack on, while the rest of us have to make do with much crappier machines and use them for everyday transport.![]()
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()
You wernt racing at Nelson street race this year were you?
I remember a Monster in F2. I was on a red cbr600rr.
New bits look good. wasnt Andy from AB's in Nelson who did them was it? Hes the man as far as Ducatis go.

You think I should go for the whole barrel of monkeys?
Hmmm, I see your point. However, this bike hasn't cost me anything like what you are probably thinking, and even though it was cheap, I have had to give up road riding all together so that I could buy this thing. Therefore I am suffering greatly and you should be feeling sorry for me
No- twasn't me, I didn't go at all last year... time money, money time. I'll have it in F3 and BEARS at Greymouth, and maybe Nelson and the Burt Munroe festival... provided money starts growing on trees...
No AB's didn't do them, though I thought about it as they had some seriously quick SS's at the Sound Of Thunder this year. It was done by a bloke here in Chch called Shaun who used to do a lot of work for BEARS guys. He's got mills and lathes etc in his garage, so it was all done there. He even makes the oval carbon fibre for the exhaust can. A very clever man he is![]()

Tony, your new set up looks great mate. Looks shit hot. hope tyou get your heel plate fitted soon. Boots are too expensive to melt one at every meet![]()
Yeah I'll buy it this week.
All this has made me think about my riding technique though. I typically ride through corners with both feet up on the balls of the feet, which is why the right ankle of my boot got burnt. I had to re-think the way I was doing it and reposition the foot so the peg was in a more normal position, just in front of the heel. Thinking about it now, it seems to make more sense to do it this way anyway- how else are you supposed to use the back brake mid corner? Or change gears while leant over? Hmmmm, time to study some pics me thinks
