Manawatu Monday Ride - English's introduction

well woke up this morning & what a fabulous day for riding.

Text English (Hi Mark & welcome) to see if a ride today would be on the cards.

it was ... So met aound 12 for the 1st cafe stop met say hi over a hot choccy .. by this time 86 gsxr had crawled outta bed & was getting organised .. so arranged to met on the Pahiatua track ..

great ride up - not alot of traffic & no wind (actually quite warm)

waited for 86 to turn up & finally heard the trumpy climbing the hill .. so off we headed did the loop of track woodville, saddle road & another cafe stop in Ashurst ... then back roads to colyton back into palmy.

Nice steady speed was had & took the day to try counter steering through corners, sweepers great no probs .. but a slightly tighter turn & lose the mojo as it were .. so still allowing the bike to fall through the corner a bit ..

Still have an issue with we think carbs & downshifting .. she still getting fuel & surging forwards .. got a handle on it today & with roads being pretty dry was not a major issue .. Hopefully that will be sorted towards the end of the week... (thanks English)

all in all a great day for riding, great company of course, & English we will see you out on a few rides now

a few pics .. last one Al's garage looking a bit fuller with 4 bikes in it ...

good report there chanceyy, nice pics too - looks like a good ride, how were the roads?

Hi english - bound to see you out there at some stage, always good to have another one in the group

Nice shed 86, but i think you need a honda in there to keep all the other brands company, and I just happen to know where you can get one

roads pretty good, odd wet patch where it has not dried out ... not much crap on the roads .. over the saddle quite a bit of gravel .. but Al said that is normal .. held pretty well but was not gonna push it

Yup its official English will be joining in on some rides (when is the next one anyhow) ??????

86's shed looked good with the bikes .. however dunna think a certain viffer will make the grade ... so whats the replacement gonna be ??

    wouldn't make the grade!?!?!?

o ye of little faith my dear!!!

    nah you probably right

not sure on the new machine yet, been looking at something around mid nineties 750cc to 1000cc, but i've looked at:

    RF900
    Firestorm
    Fireblade
    FZR1000
    VFR750
    or even a cowboyz machine

just depends whats out there (and whether I can sell the viffer)
