    RF400 into a GSXR400

Well I now own two Bikes that dont go ...& two that do. I just brought a crashed RF400 K712 and going to attempt to put the motor, carbs, cdi and maybe the gearbox into my GSXR gk76a K709 Does any body have clue on this mission?ie has it been done before? Cause I got no Idea. Looking foward to 1000 hours of skinning knuckles and swearing though

Basically the same motor, aren't they. Some of the RF's are Vtec, but that shouldn't be a worry.

The motor doesn't just simply drop in owner. Youll need different engine mounts I think

Gixxer4ever might have access to a (near) complete GXSR400 engine. Give him a shout.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Sorry to revive an old topic

I just bought an RF400 and I need a restrictor kit for it over in the UK. However, they don't make one. Could you confirm that the carbs on the RF400 are the same as the GSXR400? That way I could buy the GSXR400 kit and have it fit my RF

    Thanks
    Andrew

    RF400 used 32mm Mikuni carbs.
    GSXR400 used 27mm Mikunis.

Doesn't sound the same to me...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
