KB racing team?

Re the rider, perhaps a smart type, could put the info of lap times, compared to average of the class they race in, then take into consideration the bike by comparison. For KB members already racing. I'd prefer to back someone, who has been willing to put the effort in themselves first.

My two cents, and usually worth less than two cents can buy at the corner dairy.

Think about how many times have you looked at someone who races on a shoestring but wrings everything out to the max and but for a decent ride they would potentially be a contender for racing the Nationals!!!

As most of the applicants for my CANBRACE sponsored ride next year are from KB im happy to look at a combined effort by making the bike available under the TEAM KB banner.
Hell CANBRACE may even get behind a second bike and team from the start to get full monty exposure, even in two differant classes.
Get the rite people involved and its a good enough recipe to work.
I will watch this thread with interest.

I like what your company is doing, good on you and keep it up! we need more corporate sponsors in road racing, thats one of the biggest problems the sport is having at the moment

While we are on this subject, does anyone know of a national company (or any really) that might be interested in sponsoring a 125gp team (south island) this year? any suggestions/ help would be greatly appreciated

whats interesting about this thread...is its a great concept...

and there are alot of KBers already racing abd doing very well...and there is no reason why the people offering help and support on this thread can't help or support the guys and gals already out there doing the hard yards...living off rice and frozen vege's [or pies in twosmokers case] to race bikes!!
Any help..no matter how small is a big help on race day..or test/practise days...people don't realise the amount on mental effort is takes to race bikes...let alone prep and and adjust,fix fine tune through out a day at the track... to beable to step off your bike and have it taken off you and looked after/sorted to how you need it...would be outstanding!!! the physical and mental effort required to race is far far greater than most people comprehend... and on the other foot...helping out racers...you would be exposed to a wealth of riding knowledge /techinques and like wise in regaurd to bike setup and maintainence...that may never get the chance to be exposed too!!!

Never underestimate what it takes to do what we do...at every level out there...and never ever underestimate how much you would be helping someone out by offering to help!!

I agree here... for those things to be taken care of takes such a weight off any racers mind, they can do so much better. Helping people can give quite a sense of achievement when they do well also. I have helped out a few streetstock riders with coaching and when I've made a difference to their racing, it gives me a good sense of achievement to know I've helped someone do better

Yeah hear what you are saying Mr Poos! BUT a well known KBer asked me one day.

Why dont the KBers that race ask for help? My response was kinda along the lines of "Its their hobby, they love to race, eat baked beans, wallet diets, fart alot (thats for you HDTBoy)...and what does a sponsor get back?" As a sponsor putting money in what do they want back? Do they want anything back? Would it be enough to see KB promoted?

Theres a million questions. I have helped a couple of racers not necessarily at the higher end and I get the satisfaction that they do well.

A similar concept was mooted about 2 years ago (and Shaun shot me down btw)when we had the likes of Twosmoker and Kwaka all starting out but the site has expanded sooooo much theres so many awesome racers on here.

Maybe and just maybe its a thought that people on KB willing to help out a racer do it one on one? Sell yourselves as individuals. Tell us why we should support you as opposed to the next racer.

we all drift in and out contribute , get something in return ( not enough red rep i might add ,No green just red !)

You see people are inherently Lazy , but we all want everything, So if the task of racing is broken down into its bits and pieces and people volunteered for tasks , Say for example the bike wasnt hooking up under power, a more experienced person could give some possible solutions , and the others could provide the man power/ parts/ tea to fix the prob.

Exactly how its run in the bigger teams , everyone has a task ( with other people being able to take over if cant be met ) reporting back to A the relevant people ( those given the job of solving the problem ) and everyone else ( to keep everyone in the loop ( same post copied and pasted )

So first a task has to be set , ie to win a national race / or to place in the top 5

So as Drew said , what lap times do you need

what machinery / rider can do this

do we have it available


Poos is so right about racing , By the time I have set my pit area up ( bike already prepped I rarely have to do anything at a meeting , jetting /gearing , and thats already close as I have a huge amount of notes from last time )


Finally Kb works because of the mods , they do all those wee jobs in the background ( the day to day running it could be expanded to include this ( polls can be usefull )

the only thing I want to see out of this is ...imagine a pit area looking flash like Repsol Honda , with the crew going about their business , looking flash , and being that a hospitality area BBQ, drinks . other stuff , and out front of this incubator , a young lass /lad trying to become the next Arron slight ,,, How cool would it be to say i am apart of that ..( I know that guy I help him at ,,,,,,,)


and finally as Frosty says , a bulk order of bits helps everyone ... ( Everyone wins , companies ( free advertising of wares) US , ( skills /upgrades/ learning fun ) Rider/s ( a load off their mind

Did you even read my friggin post, I clearly said, that a person already doing it, but doin it tough would get my vote! The only way to know if a rider is up to the task, is to see what they can do on the track.

Think before ya speak!

BTW, I race on a shoestring budget, so I can fully appriciate what goes into it.
