Oh Thank the Lord The Term Is Over!

I've just finished teaching my last class this arvo. I'm up to my neck in marking from my Year 12s who've left all their assessments to the last moment to submit, my room has the smell of wet jerseys and unwashed socks. In the corner a limp, sullen sandwich is crushed into a pulp, contained within it's gladwrap. I've just yelled at a malingering student to get into class and my lights have been turned off by some idiots next door (shared light controls are a pain in the arse).

But, more importantly, the despair I feel as I think back to my poor little ol'Hornet. Unable to be ridden for a wee while until I restore her to better than new condition!

Also, since no other male teachers have been stupid enough to chaperone the school ball, I have undertaken this unrewarding and frustrating duty myself. Bugger.

It's times like this ... I think ... "What the bloody hell am I being a teacher for!?" esp. since I can earn more dosh in the commercial world and without having to deal with the cherubs in my charge every day!

And, then it comes back to .... 'cause I like teaching and seeing that one student's face light-up when they get something or really appreciate the help you've given them. I'm a mug.

I want to leave early and arrange to pick up my mini-moto bikes, but inertia has me plastered into my teacher's seat. Rant, rave, mutter, blah blah.

I miss riding my little ol'Hornet Daisy is getting her forks done at the moment and... I just want to ride.

Right, enough warbling and kitsch emoting... where's some students I can yell at!

Yeah, reminds me just last week when we had to do "letterbox patrol". Turns out the usual low-life zombies were wrecking people's property via their letterboxes.

Did a sting and netted some of the miscreants, they'll be doing neighbourhood fixer-upper type stuff in the holidays "Ooh look at all that dog-poo on the park..."

    So Justin,

How many weeks off this time?

How many days having to actually think where you should go on the little red hornet?

Must be a real bitch deciding.

That is it in one, mate! Exactly how I feel (although I am only a lowly teacher aide).
The money is shite (and if you think your payslip is bad, you should see mine), the work is hard and often unrewarding, the holidays are fantastic( mine are mostly unpaid), but I love my job and wouldn't change it for quids....but, boy, am I glad it is the last day of term!
Enjoy your break, gijoe, you deserve it!

    *sigh*

Yep, I better go check the paint stash...

I hate having a fence sometimes... perhaps a sting of my own is in order, with long spikes embedded in front of it and a baseball bat to euthanase them upon incapacitation...

Hehe ... yep ... got a big stack of assessments to mark, moderate and farf over. Already planning the big sleep in till 9am and then I'll go back to school and try and clear that work pile.

And... ah screw it, I have two bikes I need to get back to A1 spec, a couple of minimotos to pick up from Newmanz and some more bling/gear to replace

I have a cunning plan... use the daylight to restore my beauties and the night to do the marking aha! I'll mark them quickly by tossing them down the stairs and where they land that's the mark it'll get!

And I'll get that 2190km+ pootle done!

That's what I love about KB, always good for a chuckle, laff and a cry! I'm actually spotting being a bouncer tomorrow for our school's first ball. Blardy disastrous...all the girls didn't do their assessments since they were all "doing important planning for the ball". No mercy from me. Big fat NA (not achieved) from me!

I'm scoping in early to the function room and sweeping the room for concealed stashes (several years as a security supervisor doncha' know! ), and making sure I ain't around when the place burns down and the students are running nekkid down the street.

As for afterball parties, I told all and sundry they better get home pregnancy tests, shots from the clinic and the number of a good lawyer when the defecate hits the oscillitating appliance!

    No mercy from me!

Apparantly I'm the only male chaperone there. Gonna be a busy night. Last time I had to run impromptu tie-wearing classes in the venue's toilets "oh Sir, can you help me do my tie?" "My mum did my tie for me, I un-did it and I don't know how to tie it again"

Best one yet was from a young lass who said "Sir? Do I look fat in this? Am I showing too much cleavage?" Sheesh! Homie don't play that!

My response? "Go talk to Mrs.Whatsername, she'll help you out" Kids these days....

Well I think by now you know my work hours so get those bikes sorted so we can do many impromtu rides back and forth!
I don't have much to do this weekend (apart from seeing Transformers tomorow hoho!) so I may travel over with Donor if he goes your way, I'll let you play on a little gpx to get a numb arse in 2.43 seconds on.
