I was sitting at the petrol station filling up my car ($80 thank you!) when I saw several bikers cruise past and thought to myself: I'm going about this all wrong...
So I talked myself into getting a bike which didn't take long. I read a ridiculous number of threads on KB (thanks to everyone!) and was almost ready to take the 'sensible' option and get a GN250, but the night before going to view one I spotted an RG150 and I immediately knew I had to have it. And now I do.
I've taken it for a couple of small runs around the streets here in Kapiti and it was a blast. I was surprised how natural it felt to just hop on and go, change gears, corner, etc... I've never ridden before, although I did do a return trip on the back of a Honda VT500E from Wellington to Auckland when I was 12 which I'm sure helped. I can't wait to finally hit the road – figuratively speaking, of course!
I'm doing my basic handling skills test this Saturday and getting my license as soon as humanly possible after that. I look forward to seeing you guys out and about.
