I used to say the same thing, believe me...but funnily enough, I met my soulmate5 years ago , he adores my son (who's not his) and we got married this past January.
What I'm getting at his, don't be too harsh on those that share in their pain, and keep your options open (and I don't mean like your venture kind of option....funny though!). You'd be amazed at how many decent people there are out there, regardless of their skin colour.
