Shift work plays havoc with sleep paterns. Especially when the second wind kicks in just as one gets home in the morning.
My first day off is usually just blobbing in front of the TV. I sleep when I'm tired then its usually 12 hours straight when a normal sleep is between 4-6 hours. Dont like pills so dont take them unless im really sick. But each to their own

I have 1 cuppa tea.. Then a really hot shower.. I'm usually able to crash really easily after that...

I find if I get 8 hours sleep a night, by the time I come home from work or finish whatever it is I have needed to do during the day I usually crash easily...

I need to be physically tired.. Not just mentally..

Sometimes running round cleaning the house helps..

watch tele in the dark for a few hours that usually puts enough strain on your eyes to put you to sleep, (not overly great for the eye's but hey you might get a decent sleep)

Getting to sleep isn't really an issue. - its getting up in the morning!
Even though my alarm goes, i just find it so hard to force myself to get out of bed.
Any suggestions - other then, just get outta bed.

Do some pressups when you get out of bed. I find that wakes me up better.

Hey Slinky I've always thought having a bed like with hydraulics & a hinge at the foot so you just push a button (or connect to alarm?) & it stands up so you just have to step out rather than get up would be the business. Right -next series of Dragons Den. Nah those self motivated prats probably spring out of bed. Mornings -bluergh!

Ever notice that if you get up to go to the bog at 6 & get back to bed, when you have to get up an hour or so later you have gained 20kilos?

Been on the Lift & chocolate today. Wine makes for a bad sleep. Puts you straight out but you don't rest very well. We had a bath last night, that makes you tired.

But my issue is waking up at 3 or 4. That's a drag. Fortunately doesn't happen all the time, but I need one weekend day to catch up. Many people I believe are sleep deprived but don't realise.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
