    The Happy Hitcher - maybe

Just installed the new Firefox - spill chucker works in the dialogue box. - But it appears to be 'merican.

Haven't looked yet - Anybody sussed how to make it engrish?

Edit: Got one - general preferences - language. But it still spills colour wrong.

Right click on the underlined word...then enter 'your' spelling of it in the checker. Won't come up again. Good eh?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Be careful about fiddling with changing language defaults in Firefox. If you change it to English (UK) it expects a physical keyboard change as well. US and UK keyboards have a couple of different key placements.

Yep, firefox2 is quite good...... it now brings up a noice red line under the wrong spelt word when typing up our posts.

It don't like the word 'spelt' at all.

jrandom and others favour "spelled". There is no hard-and-fast, but the BDOTGNZA's preference is "spelt".

Testicles. On my Linux laptop and Miss X's Mac OS X laptop, both have en-GB as Language Default, en-GB dictionaries, and en-GB interface. Neither are using UK keyboards.

On another note, why do we use US keyboards here? They are arse. I grew up on C64s, which had a semi-UK keyboard. Inspired design; quote marks you can hit without having to drop your whole hand down; and most importantly, the elimination of that silly long backslash key, shortening of shift keys, so they can squeeze in a new key up where you right-hand little finger is. Brilliant for coders. What's the point of having two Alt keys as well? Most UK keyboards have another mod key in the form of AltGr. Delicious.

Just updated is all - I use safari too. Sometime when uploading and downloading at the same time it's just easier to work in 2.
