    How the universe will end

On occasions I troll around space sites. Come across all sorts of things. Might just post the odd interesting one up here. Seems there's the odd stagazer that rides the heavens here on KB

It's a bit bleak but at least no one here will be around to see it.

Space is dark, it is so endless, when you're lost it's so relentless
It is so big, it is so small, why does man try to act so tall,
Is this the reason deep in our minds.
It does not feel, it does not die, space is neither truth nor lie
Into the void we have to travel, to find the clue which will unravel
Is this the reason deep in our minds
The secret lies with our tomorrow, in each of us is a hidden sorrow
The path goes onward through the night beyond the realms of
    ancient light.
Is this the reason deep in our minds

Damn, only 1 trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion years until all the black holes evaporate even.
Still, we will have written ourselves into the quantum foam by that time, and that's everywhere, even in total vacuum.

And if all else fails, we could collapse the vacuum to a lower state, start again.

Tippler said an interesting thing about a flat universe,.... eh, I can't be bothered to explain it.

Personally I think these theories of dark energy and dark matter are superfluous. All that is needed to dispense with dark matter and energy is to accept the speed of light has changed in the past. Scientists are unwilling to accept that but I reckon it's a heap more realistic than creating two entirely new theoretical things to account for observations.

that there is still time to do all I want before the light goes out.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

I think there's a limit to that which the mind can comprehend. Does there need to be a beginning and an end?

A little known fact - 42 in binary (computer lingo) is 10101010. So the Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe and Everything, is - On, Off, On, Off, On, Off, On, Off......

There's another theory that suggests that when the Universe is finally dead, Allah will make an appearance to say -

Really? So I presume that when you refer to 'the one who created the stars and heavens' you're basing your statement on proven fact and not assumption?

Churches promoted the 'fact' that the world was flat until at least 300AD, until someone (a scientist perhaps) decided to test the claim.

Nah - he'll be saying "Can you fuckwits not read or summat? What part of 'Thou shalt not kill' are you having difficulty with?"

"Yeah, all those suicide bombers you thought had virgins on tap? Yah, they all got fried for killing in the name of a god that disapproves of killing - daft arses!"

Seriously though when we consider the size of just the Solar System we are pretty insignificant - we need to find a new Solar system to colonise - I vote only atheists apply since the religious nutters are hell bent on death and destruction - I mean half the cars that try to kill me in the morning have farking 'Jesus saves' stickers on the bumpers - kinda gives me a jaded opinion.

Venus is too hot, Mars is too cold. Europa could be alright for a secondary launch pad - who's with me?
