Yeah - but they assembled BMWs in ZA

That would be Barvarian Money Works. They can get apparell made in China for $246.84, retail it for $607.50 excluding GST, then add $538.44 GST and get away with it. or the $1751 jacket that you have to pay another $600 for the gortex liner. If it has a BMW logo it will be overpriced!

I've never 'connected' with a BMW the way I have the the Mercs. Size thing probably.

If I was to choose myself a car I'd try and find a 1969 Monaro in good condition and fully restore it to showroom.

Yeah, but what you forgot to tell us is that regardless of all that, they were in fact generous enough to give you all that product for free.
Kinda weird that you are so angry at being given it all.

Hey I won 3k worth of gear fair and square! Doesnt change the fact that anything with a BMW logo on it is wickedly overpriced does it.
If sending a "lucky" winner on an emotional rollercoaster is their idea of generosity then I am ever so greatful!

I spend aprox $50 to $60,000 per year on BMW spare parts & would say they invaribly represent great value for money, especially when compared to the equivalent component from say, Ford or Subaru.
I am happy to accept that there are other opinions, this however is mine.

I cant say I've ever 'connected' with any car, unless you count the bruce mcintyre incident. A car to me is a just means of moving kids and things. However I have "connected" with every bike I ever rode. All of them. And there's been a few!

You should be a Greek taxi driver....the most uncomfortable, agricultural motor I've ever had the misfortune to drive, and yes, that includes that first-of-the-line Vauxhall Vectra I had.

Oh, and ditch the AU Falc'n tailights too.....

But for a modern car it looks not too bad.
The whole thing looks like an AU and therefore is only slightly less ugly than my bum.

All good - its a place for opinions - It's just Ford v Holden and all that and I didn't have any 2-wheeled conversation starters.

I would be more inclined to think that the AU looked like the merc than vice versa but carry on.
