my oath! Good work that man, seems you can do the work of a whole team of hamfisted, tree-shade bush mechanics we call a spanner night here! Very very kewl ... and watching with interest as we are currently spanking up a RZ250 to a 350 at the moment ourselves!
Keep posting and more piccies as well!

It's the only way to really get to know things about bikes
the more you do the easier & better it gets. Bit envious actually because I missed a cheap RZ250 down here last month that would have a great project bike.
This old girl will be my 10th project rebuild counting a couple done for mates so it's pretty straight forward but I'm not sure where this one will end up yet.
Here's couple of shots of the crud that was in the carbs![]()
Always keepin busy aren't ya Bill? Looks like a good project you've got yourself there... never a shortage of people keen on the old GSXs so it should be a conversation piece if nothing else! Knowing you (not that I do very well, mind) and your attention to detail, it'll be meticulously taken care of in every aspect.
Should catch up some time when you're not too busy (is there ever a time when you're not busy?!), if you're keen..? I can buzz out there on the NZ at some stage. I'd like to learn a bit of spanner work myself... bike hasn't had anything done to it since you last saw it! Apart from me lubing the chain from time to time and checking the oil... oh, and swapping the bloody front brake disk!

Got to keep busy Ryanthis piece of work will be a walk in the park to work on. These ES models where the UJM Suzuki , jack of all trades & master of none
still quite a few getting about and clocking up some hefty Kms. I'll definately be making sure everything works how it's supposed too if not slightly better
Yeah you should come down at some stage to have a nosey over what's going onbe more interesting than last time when we were putting that sump pan seal on the ZXR.
Lols you're neglecting the NZ dude, I'm sure I gave you a schedule of things to do & keep an eye on![]()
Hehe, I wouldn't say neglecting it as such, I try to look after it to the limits of what I know how to do... which ain't much when it comes down to it!I've had a couple of things go strange on me... the tail light stopped working for a while there, and only when I discovered that the horn wasn't working as well I remembered from my old car that they're sometimes linked. So I got in under the front and fixed up the horn connection, and presto, the tail light worked again.
I've tried to keep an eye on the oil and keep it topped up, and keep the chain greased, and watch the tyre pressures... but I haven't done much else. I'd like to give the front brake another bleed, and I should probably change the brake pad yet again... but other than that there's probably a myriad of things I should check / maintain.
When's good for you? Don't want to interrupt a delecate operation and jeopardise the patient...![]()

I wouldn't call it a delicate operation
I'll give you a yell
the next couple of weekends are a bit hectic though.
mmm interesting find Kflasher , I remember when the full fairing kits came out for the Kats (think it was Parisenne fairings in OZ) I'd have to track down a Katana cowling though as I'm sure that auction is just for the 2 side/belly panels. Otherwise she'd look like a EFE/EFG model.
Sounds like a plan.I'm working full time now (bout bloody time!), but the hours are pretty flexible most of the time which is really handy. The fact that it's a comfy easy desk job with my own desk... well, let's just say I'm not complaining!
Oh yeah, and here's the kicker: weekends off! That was always one of my major gripes with my old job and one of the main reasons I didn't get out very much. I've been able to ride so much more since not working weekends!
Just flick me a text when you're free and I'll cruise on out. I haven't been getting out very much recently because it's too blardy cold (not to mention all the grit and slick surfaces), but I did manage to get out for a good blat on Saturday to Diamond Harbour (cheers phoenixgtr). The NZ's running well, it likes the twisties heading out there.
