Mnthly meet in Auckland - Part 2

OK, so the results of the first pole say we meet the first Thursday night of each month.

Not knowing Auckland pubs or the site members that well, I think we should put it to another Pole. So guys, were do you want to meet for the first monthly meet?

As good as Galbraith's is, it's very much a drink & dine in pub - not so good for standing around or occupying yourself with other distractions such as pool or darts.

What about the pool hool in ponsnobby?

Pool sounds like a great idea, seeing as how most of us riding won't be drinking much / or at all (me).

Any ideas what we'll be able to do for parking there? I have a notion there is pay and display parking under their building, can anybody remember? And if so, has anyone worked out how to pay and display on a bike?

Although Galbraiths is my favourite pub, I gotta agree that it's probably not a good idea, better somewhere where there's more to do than drink.

Hmmm, parking could be dodgy, but that's true almost anywhere. Remember though, parking is unrestricted after 6pm unless otherwise stated. You could always park up on the pavement out the front door.

I Agree - If I'm going to ride, I'm not going to drink. Therefore I'll probably drive

Good idea - and someone else bothered to write it ponsnobby too hoorah!

Parking shouldnt be a problem, you can squeeze in on Ponsnobby Rd outside, or around on a back street if you are brave enough to trust those wild ponsnobby yobboes

There's a pool pub in Parnell, big barn of a place upstairs that was empty last time I was there, park the bikes across the road maybe, you can see them out the window. The Kings Arms was always a good bike pub, park outside the windows.Garden bar at the Trident - look out at a big car park. There's a poncy new bar in Three Kings that looks out onto the car park too.

    What about the Rooster Westies?

I don't want to commit myself to anything, but I work a couple of doors down from the Ponsnobby Pool Hall Palace of Iniquity, so if it does end up there, I may be able to offer our downstairs carparking for use (it's locked, so if we do get to use it, anyone who is late won't get in.) I can also check when after-hours are for the Wilson's parking.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Thirsty Whale looks nice, only two pool tables, so you'd have to make sure you monopolised the early....

OK, so we're pretty unanimously agreed. Ponsonby Snooker Club. I've added an event in the calender for the 7th of October (first thursday of the month, so no worries about pay-days etc). I'll remind people nearer the time.

Firestormer - you generous offer is most welcome. If people wanting secure parking were to arrive around 7pm, can you let us know if your boss's are OK with this? Cheers bro.
