dont worry guys, i have done the thick end of 1500kms in the two weeks my bike has been legal and not even come close to crashing. (but did nerly run out of gass today, put 16.4l into a 16.5l tank) (fucking pricey gass to, the only open one in the middle of nowhere was $1.80 per l. Ouch)
Hold on a sec! How did I give you (Carbacca) a red bling?!
It suppose to be a GREEN bling! Sorry man...
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
Sorry to hear about the bins, glad you are both ok.
Just goes to show you can never be too complacent....
just leave it till morning...itll prob fire up then..... bikes sometimes wont start for 2-3 mins of winding over after a drop.....otherwise perhaps a wire to a coil has come off? ive had that happen before just check it over....also check the sidestand or clutch killswitch hasnt been munted if u usually need to hold the clutch in or have the sidestand up to start it.
your bikes easy to fix....chewing gum and superglue, after all thats how it came from factory![]()
yeah also a good point ive helped many a person trying to start thier bike where they parked it wondering why it wont start...dude ur kill switch is off...no it's not...look at the switch....oh fuck...flick...whir whir vroooom
mmmmm rain can be a bastard....
thats why i reccomend Dunlop gprA10's
"they really do stick like shit to a blanket"
This advertisment was brought to you by dunlops mobsters in association with honda it cost us nothing because skidMark knows otherwise we would kill him.![]()
oh well it started alright just now. so all i really need its mirror + indicators and i'll be back on the road. thanks (or no thanks) to the grass there was no fairing damage, just a bit of wet grass clipping and a spot of mud on the brake lever. mirrors and indicators are on their way from korea.
back to the training....was definitely a worthy and good night training, makes me realise i am crap at low speed handling. will try and make the next one if i am back on the road by then
Doh!!!
more Doh!!!
Sorry to hear this guys but it's good your both ok and not damaged except for a few replaceable bits of plastic and metal on your rides. EJ i saw you riding last night in the group heading to Albany, when did you have your wee incident and did you choke on your muesli bar on the way over![]()
Thanks BigDog!! (and also DD and McDuck) sort of how i was doing it anyway but i have been doing it more times than a couple each and was aiming for the 250km while doing these things as per DD suggestion. I'm sure they are bedded in fine now thanks to the info from all of you guys, cheers
It seems that there was a good turn out for the ride last night in the group riding from westgate anyway. i was heading back home from adding some kms to the brakes and taking my flatmate out for his first pootle when we saw you all at the bush road lights and gave you all a wavegood to see a few more hardy souls practicing
Come on, Toshi, come on!
Last night, although rather windy there were 9 bikes in attendance. The rain even held out until after.
The evening started off with a pre riding safety check, advising what to check before a ride, what to look for and how ... safety first!
The cones did blow around a little bit but allowed several events, including a slow speed slalom, emergency stopping (with a difference), and for an encore a race - a slow slow speed race with all bikes involved (slowest wins) was fun.
No bins on the actual event, but two after? take it easy guys, remember two of the most common times to have a bin, well three are within the first 1/2 hour of rain, within a mile from home and when showing off to the opposite sex
Just remember folks, the weather conditions, no matter how bad can actually work in your favor as each type of weather conditions have their own styles, methods with tips and tricks.
Hope to see you there next week
this has been your unofficial summary, brought to you by the letter b and the number 2and the answer for number 6 of the trivia night we kind of crashed for a few questions was the sax
We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.
Glad I finally made it along. Was more challenging than I expected - especially that slow race! Assuming nothing comes up I'll be there next week
Good to hear you're ok carbacca. What a pain being so close to home!![]()
I certainly took it easy on the way back to Massey (had to pick some stuff up) then back to Browns Bay after EJ binned.
Bin? it was just a drop lol
Well I spent some time on this afternoon fixing my break levers, readjusting the positions etc etc by reading my user manual.
I actually got my hands dirty for the first time!
Now I know better about my bikes and I'm happy
It was a good experience....not a pleasant one tho lol
P.S. I hope Carbacca is ok lol
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
just went on a weeeee shopping trip and now i am a happy boy
bought some aftermarket indicators so thats sorted
bought an aftermarket ZX10 mirror for 40bux, i have removed the stem from the base and plonked that on the hyosung base so thats sorted too (thanks mt eden motorcycle) downside was they only had the rightie so i am going to have mismatched mirrors until the factory hyosung ones arrive from korea. or until they have the left half in stock which i dont mind at all, it does look different from what i m used to but its no biggie
i'll be back on the road this weekend. and hopefully back on the AWNMR next week too but please forgive me if i dont turn up if its raining
