    Sorry, I don't buy it.

This is like saying I might get hit by a car today so I won't drive. Just because there is risk does not mean I stop living.

My own belief from the what I have seen and read is that if global warming is happening (and the jury is well and truly still out on that) there's nothing we can do to stop it and the consequences aren't going to be nearly as bad as we are led to believe by the scaremongers.
"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin (1706-90)

"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending to much liberty than those attending too small a degree of it." - Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)

"Motorcycling is not inherently dangerous. It is, however, EXTREMELY unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence and stupidity!" - Anonymous

The earth has had global warming in the past and a couple of ice ages... (else we would still be in an ice age no??? Its done it the in past, it will do it again the future, and there aint a lot we can do... actually nothing we can do.

When Krakatoa blew its top in 1883 it has put more shyte in the air than humans have since our industrial age... and its probably going to blow again and soon. And thats just one volacno...

So to stop global warming (if its happening) you need to stop farting, talking, breathing, riding your motorcycle, and stop the politains talking hot air in wellington cause there full of shit. You need to stop and volcanic eruptions and activity. You need to stop all meteor strikes from burning up in our atmosphere and you need to stop...

    What's your problem?

It's a motorbike that doesn't give out toxic exhaust and is very pleasing to the eye. The perfect answer, bought to you from bleeding heart chardonnay liberals.

The fact that is doesn't go is neither here nor there. Anyway, it would solve lifestyle induced diabetes and cancers at the same time - you'd get very fit flintstoning it about the place.

More world crises soved at a single swoop.

    anyone else attend this?
i found the arguments pretty silly, as people were only picking extremes, rather than being realistic.
Sad fact of the matter is, even if global warming is bullshit - we're still fukd as global is only one problem out of a million that this planet could be suffering. If we don't change our thinking in more ways than one.
No we cannot rely on certain power sources (wind etc) but no we can afford to not use them in our power grid portfolio.

    .
And what if the ones who claimed (in the late 1970s) that we are heading for an ice age are true? We could be making the situation worse.

All the scientific information shows that man can have very little effect on climate, and the changes that happen all the time are natural. It would cost humanity far less to learn to live with climate change, in both directions, than to try and prevent it.

True but isnt global warming about making an ice age? the ice melts at the polar caps and sends cold water out into the sea making everything colder? then the sun rays cant get in to heat the earth etc etc etc?
