Red Baron are surely taking the piss. If not, then they have finally over stepped the mark and are I now consider them to be complete and utter rip off artists. The bikes were cheaper than that new. That, or that ZXR better have a small turbo conversion hiding away somewhere in that little frame.
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
Just had another thought. Someone might buy this as a mint bike with low ks. Ride it away and have a buckle small scratch the tank and they are going to lose 90% on the purchase price.
Then again, it might be a typo. Maybe they were surposed to put ZX6R and it is a 2001 model.

That is down right criminal. I knew Red Bastards were ripping people off left right and centre but thats just taking it too far... I wont even buy parts from them any more... 99% of the time the same part sells for 2/3 of the price everywhere else.
I just hope some poor bugger doesnt buy it... what a rip off. They should be ashamed of themselves.![]()

When you consider some poor young guy is probably going to finance that... the final price paid all up is interesting. But meh, it's Red Baron, no surprises there.
nope .. she'll go at that price .. easy .. thats a Pommy Meadowcroft paintjob first off.. he ALWAYS does em kickass.. id check on what has been done to it mechanically .. dont forget you get the $600 learners package on that .. might screw them down without it ..
bottom line .. gas is skyrocketing.. look for $2 a litre by Xmas .. more people on bikes .. more young people who have more $$ than brains and small-cock syndrome.. prolly sell it to a chinese kid who's mummy bought him a house in Parnell to live in while he drinks and chases white women at Uni
Agree with sarge, say what you will about prices, but if people weren't buying them at that price then those dealers would be out of business pretty quick, the fact they ain't tells me that they're not sitting around for too long.
Doesn't matter, you don't get the money back that you've put in... it could be painted with magic pixie dust and it'd still be worth less because now it's not original. Given the the frame is black, and the fairings have been totally painted, it looks like an $8500 wreck that was crashed so badly that it needed the frame bogged up and thus required painting. Be damned if I'd pay that for something that looks like a cover up job.
Sure sure it might be fine, it might have had its frame painted for a perfectly good reason... but without pictures of the build, they can go jump.
Only thing that really bothers me though is that the sort of people that bike is aimed at, probably haven't been around long enough to be cynical about these sort of things, and probably won't consider what it was that justified a ground up rebuild.
Mate, people can keep buying these as far as I'm concerned. Puts less pressure on the rest of the market.
My friend bought a CBR250RR, on finance for $7k, not very good nick either... And his father's been riding for decades. Go figure.
I bought my 250 for $1250![]()
yup... and thats one of the reasons it will most likely go for that price ..
if you look at the demand, ( heaps of new bikers due to fuel prices and traffic) and the limited supply out of Japan.. its a sellers market ..
same with Auckland housing .. no way in HELL im gonna pay $350000 for a tinny house in Otara.. but someone will
Yes you guys have hit the nail on the head, and to confirm it, the price is right and I know it will sell as well.
Some poor bugger n0o0b will rock along and buy it at that price. Init ridiculous eh. I've seen other ZXR's and CBR's go at 8.5g from Red Baron before aye.
Bugger !
