Arrow Angry rant about FXR150 rider

Yesterday I was heading home after work and I saw a rider on a blue FXR150, with no decals on the front faring (a sign that the rider has been in an accident already). The rider was heading onto the motorway at the Fanshaw St on-ramp and was only wearing a black helmet with a clear visor, no boots, gloves, or protective clothing...

Once on the motorway, I was going about 95kph and couldn't keep up with the FXR. The FXR was weaving in and out of lanes without inidcating and without even turning his/her head to check for vehicles behind. Cars were slamming on thier brakes to make sure they didn't hit the FXR which I'm sure most of them really wanted to. And I don't blame them, this rider was riding like an absolute asshole. I even wanted to smack him/her.

If your reading this YOUR AN ASSHOLE FXR rider!

My partner rides an FXR (my old bike) but we're planning on upgrading that in 2 months. At first when I saw the FXR I thought it was her, I was freaking out and thinking "She's gonna get it when I get home GRRR" because her bike is blue and her helmet is black, I only got close enough to the FXR as I was going off on the Onewa Rd offramp to notice it wasn't her....

My partners FXR has all the Decals. I should know I paid for them when she dropped her bike in the rain last year... $3000 FXR and $1500 worth of damage...

You get some anus lovers in this world that cannot ride for shit and just generally dont care about what happens to others.

Unfortunatly when they end up in hospital as a result of an accident they get all stupid and start blaming the other party. Im just waiting for the day someone does that to me so that I can give them a good reason to cry!!!

All that said, I think CHCH riders are pretty good

99% of the bikers a I see are all good riders, most of them better than me (not hard seeing as I'm on my learners) and I'll admit sometimes I do some stupid shit which has nearly got me killed... but lesson learned and I never do those things again. Part of a learning curve I suppose...

It people like the FXR rider I was talking about that ruin the biker reputation. I watched him/her nearly tailgate at least 6 cars just on the harbour bridge alone, not counting the cars before and after the bridge. When I first got to the lights and I saw the bike from about 5 cars back, I thought about splitting lanes and going up to the front to give him/her a nod and decided not... now I'm glad I didn't

lol my name is... an old habit... yeah I'm not really "placid" at all... I have a bad temper, I'm not physically violent (I'm far too skinny to be that stupid... I'm only 44kgs), but I run my mouth when I'm angry... lol and my eye twitches lol my boss knows when to leave me alone... the twitching eye says it all...

Maybe I should change my name to twitch lol

Suggest if you are riding around on a 150cc motorcycle - you really don't care what other people think anyway....or you are horribly deluded.

Nice spotting lou. The gothic scream avatar gave it away for me.

    Sorry I couldn't resist.

I just had to post in here as the first FXR150 owner while this thread is bashing another one.

    We're not all .

That dude needs some gentle to.

    Besides, I like my bike!
It's an awesome commuter and fulfils my requirements.

While the rider sounds like a dickhead, I don't like the idea that seems to be, non standard paint, must have crashed. I have considered painting my GSX as Im not a huge fan of the grey but don't want to devalue the bike even more.

I wasn't bashing all FXR150 riders, my partner rides a FXR150. Which is what drew my attention to it at first... as I thought it was her...

It wasn't painted a different colour. It looked like a brand new faring without the decals. Not a painted one. Usually 99% of the time this is because of damage to the bike... and judging by how he/she was riding I wouldn't be surprised if it was because of an accident. And then he/she couldn't be bothered paying the extra $150-$200 for the decals.

My partner dropped her bike on the first big-ish (more than just around the block) ride. It was drizzling, the roads were wet, and through lack of experience she failed to notice the vehicle ahead (me) slowing down due to a red light. When she did notice she was just about to run into the back of my bike and slammed on the brakes and locked both brakes... and the bike just went down.

Smashed up the front faring, smashed the right side faring, the handlebar was munched, the brake lever bent, the mirror smashed off, the muffler was damaged and the foot peg damaged, the windscreen was munched... getting it all fixed cost us close to $1500, would have been cheaper had we opted to not get the decals for the bike.

And thats why I'm saying this person on the FXR must have been in an accident before and either couldn't be bothered or couldn't afford to buy the decals. Given that this person had no protective gear on except a helmet, I'm going with the money option.

    No hard feelings.

 Didn't know that's how high the damage bill could go for what appears to be a light low speed crash (nearly had a few like that myself). Today that can easily write one of these bikes off, unless it opted to be ridden naked without all of the plastic stuff.

Trust your partner wasn't injured. Good to see she got back on.
