Seven Wonders of the Modern World

OK guys I see they have picked Seven Wonders of the World to replace the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World all of which with the exception of the pyamids no longer exist. So what KB's take on the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Must have been built from the Industial revolution onward. That's about 1750 and later. Post pics if possible.

No 1 for me is the Millau Viaduct. Best photo I've come across. Stunning and scary. It's gota be the No 1 biker bridge to ride.

The grand canyon Skywalk. I could only find artists impressions but it has been built...
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

If it comes in bite-sized chucks, would it qualify for the Piece Prize?

Just what they're usually thinking at the Christchurch City Council: "Ooo! Let's waste millions of taxpayers money doing something utterly pointless noone in the city wants or cares about! And then let's congratulate ourselves and build new multi million dollar offices! Whee, we're so fscking awesome, go us!" Other pearlers from them I won't go into.

Modern wonder: Hoover Dam, AZ / NV border, USA. Incredible structure.

I thought that was in Australia somewhere... Sydney or Melbourne? It was on the news a couple of weeks ago. Can't remember the article. Anyone got the link?

Yep that's gota be the biggest con job this city has ever had pulled on it. When I was driving the Yellow shuttle I picked up a group of passengers of one of the Cruise liners. There was a guy when he saw the Chalice remarked that it was very much like the Ice cream cones he got in Copenhagen. They had leaves embossed on the side of the cone much the same way as the chalice. Only difference he could see was that the Chalice had different leaves. They are native leaves on NZ. Ever since then I have always called it the ice cream cone. Bloody wast of money and a idea pinched from an ice cream cart.

Ah found it - it's in Melbourne. Pretty impressive building, even without the glass box part of it! Here's the link to the news story.

Not as old as The Acropolis and Stonehenge that the media reports suggest should be in the Seven.

And it is, I believe, the most beautiful church/mosque in the world. Its dome is an absolutely phenomenal piece of engineering. The architects who executed this stunning design were nothing short of freakish. Gaudi's Sagrada Familia in Barcelona is second in my Notable Religious Haunts category. If the Hagia Sophia doesn't qualify I'd swap it for Senor Gaudi's effort.
