I cracked up on at the news last night (TV One at 10pm)

They said that due to the ferries to Waiheke Island being cancelled, that many passengers have to sleep on the boats!!

    What a croc of %$#@

Dont these Aucklanders have things called friends
Have they not yet discovered those big buildings called hotels

Drama Queens, while Northland is completely cut off

I bet there is, no doubt a fair bit of cleaning up to do today. Im off to see Harry Potter with my boy first, and dont intend to leave Whangarei till 1pm, just in time to miss the worsed of the Auckland motorway traffic. When I road up last Wednesday, the traffic on the motorway was down to 40km. most the way where there was no back up of traffic

Gusts here were 160-170kms. Easterlies right off the sea and it was pretty messy.

Theres a huge clean up going on and half the peninsula was without power through the night. I evacuated the workplace as I thought someone might get hit with flying debri. Have to say I was feeling a little uncomfortable with the windows bowing in.

We have staff now who cant get to work because of the trees blow over...hmmm think of that fire wood ... anyone got a trailer and a chainsaw

    So scary yesterday...
The lighting fell just close to the house, policemen cars just close by because of a tree falling on a powerline and no power...so no lights, no heaters, just fire in the chemney to keep warm, all the flatmates in front of it lol!
Funny evening, reading on the floor and eating some take aways...but scary too ey!
Read that 2 bikers fell off their bike on the Harbour Bridge...Hope they're ok...

The Auckland rain radar is off line. I think that may be ironic?

....lmfao. Yes I can see the irony in that

There was a garden shed being blown across the driveway at work and every way I decided to step (aka RUN) to avoid it the damn thing tried to chase me down....revenge of the killer shed
