Question: photos in websites - do you ever put the cursor over them?

Reason for asking is that, when I put together a web-page, I spend time (sometimes ages) thinking up captions to go with the photos.

I was taught this is the mark of a 'professional' website.

So just wondering if any of you ever bother to put the cursor over an image to see the caption?

Or, come to think of it, if you even knew that there were captions against photos on some sites?

I used to put captions on photos....that way if I cocked up and the picture didn't load...at least people had an idea of what they were missing. Normally only put the cursor over it if I've got an X or I want to do something with the image.

    .....

I like having a caption when you put the cursor over - cos sometimes it's hard to tell from a thumbnail exactly what it is, and my PC is fairly slow and I can't always be bothered opening it up to big size and waiting.

Captions are definitely very helpful and it helps to know if you want to actually open the pic up or not.

What was the question again?:spudwhat: (Crikey - I'm turning into Wari )

Yeah, I sometimes do the hovering thing. When I remember. I do it with the topics on here too, to see what the hell they're about. When I remember, that is. So keep up the good work with captioning stuff. (Reminds me, must finish doodling around putting captions on my holiday albums...)
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Yes they are quite useful as if the pages take time to load (read dialup) you can read the capitions while waiting for the photos to load Also makes it clear what the picture is suppose to show.
