Never fell asleep in the few times I rode on the back of Dad's bike -- despite the long, wide, straight boring roads of Queensland and the comfortable V-Star cruiser I was on; probably because I just don't trust the bastard

I think also, being a rider, I'm always trying to anticipate what he's going to do, which means I'm always alert and tense. Doesn't work.

When the girlfriend pillions on my bike she gets very mellow and has almost fallen asleep a few times. I just don't think we've been on long enough runs yet, it's all been less than 40kms or so. I like to think I'm a reasonably smooth rider, which has something to do with it, and the CB250RS with the single cylinder means it's very mellow and makes nice low-frequency vibrations, instead of a buzzy high-pitched inline four.

I am a fuckin terrible pillion. Always have been, on farm bikes etc. Hate being out of control!

Picked Spank up from town and due to licence issues jumped on the back of my bike for a short trip back over the bridge..... not my idea of fun!

A few years back meon3 fell asleep on the back of the Bandit. She dreamed we crashed the bike and had just enough time to phone the kids to say I love you before we died. Next thing she wakes up in tears and WTF? she's on a bike at speed!

    True story....

After a long weekend at the Cold Kiwi my young fella would fall asleep on the back. Relativally safe in the armchair.
