Question Conti race... Trying to choose tyres

    firstly hi all,

now I own a 06 636 zx6r and have done one season on conti race attacks, what I want is some feedback on other brands of tyres and your thoughts on what would best suit my bike and style, I ride pretty fast most of the time and want sticky ones, I do have a set of race attacks waiting to go on for summer but thought about something different to see how feel and feedback changes, I understand that it is a personal pref type of thing but am interested in any sugestions etc...

    it just is.

Only tried Pilot Sports and Pilot Powers (3 sets).

I'll be buying powers as my next set again, brilliant for quicker wet weather riding too.

If you really are as fast as you say try Pilot Powers 2CT's.

Why the 2CT's??? ... aren't they just Powers on the edges with a harder-longer-wearing centre section/compound?

Conti race tyres are the best i have used so far... Power Race has a great rear but not as good as the Conti, but the front is extremely vague and has little feedback and grip. Dunlops dont last aslong as the Contis and the Pirellis are crazy expensive...
See Robert Taylor for any Ohlins requirements www.northwest.co.nz
    Thanks Colemans Suzuki
    Thanks AMCC
I use DID Chains and Akrapovic Exhausts

I find pirellis [I use pirelli superbike slicks] to be cheaps as shit compared to ALLLLL the rest!!! I must try these contis at some stage though!

No. They have completly different compounds. Even the front and rears are different.

Power 2CT's are fantastic tyres! I had a set on my 07 blade. They are pretty hard to beat.

Not exactly. They are as soft as a regular Power in the centre but around 20% softer on the edges.

That's what Michelin says, but I reckon that's over-simplifying it...

pick up a standard power and a 2CT rear and flex the sidewalls...the 2CT is far, far stiffer. Seemingly a different construction altogether.

Haven't tried the 2CTs yet, but used heaps of Powers on the road. On fast tracks they over-heat too fast. Apparently 2CTs are much better on the track. Will try 'em one day, but loving my Bridgestone 002 Streets for now.
