One of the big differences between men and women is that women love cats and men pretend to like cats but kick them when the woman isn't looking....so my hubby tells me anyhow...LOL

I love cats because they are independent and they stay because they want to. If they don't want to, they piss off next door. So to have a cat that stays around, and waits for you to get home every night (on the driveway in the cold and rain), and who wants to snuggle with you as soon as your alarm goes off in the morning - well, it's just nice.

Having said that, it does sound like your flattie has got a bit of a fixation with her boy - but each to their own. Maybe she sticks up for him so much cos she knows he's a runt and she feels sorry for him. Poor thing - someone's got to stick up for him! LOL
