I think I saw one in Perth on my last visit there (1999-ish). If that's what it was (that was many years ago, and my memory is weak, and my brain dim, or vice-versa), then it were mega (whatever the hell that means).
That there dyno chart was scary; I know (as in I learned it, but so what) that every transfer of torque through a right-angle sucks up power, and that there are frictional losses, and a whole bunch of agents sticking their sticky paws out for a free share (damned parasites), but to actually see it graphically represented is another thing. This thing, in fact.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

    Red face SRX 600

SRX600 is a single cylinder thing what was very popular in Churmany. But no one bought them anywhere else, which now makes them desirable because they are a lot of fun. Used to work with a bloke who had two and he loved them even though he was shaped a bit like a water buffalo and was twice as heavy as said buffalo.[/QUOTE]

i had one for a while - sold it to my best friend who still owns it.
it had yoshimura rear shocks and with a new set of fork springs and heavier oil was one of the best handling bikes i owned.
was a biiiaaaatch to start though - especially when hot.
they have a wierd dual carb setup that makes new carb ideas very expensive...
i always thought the motor would be good in a TZ or TZR frame, as the srx has spindly little rims and the brakes aren't much chop either.

there's good info on srxs on thumperpage.com too:

The SRX uses the XT/TT 600 motor, most have kick start, but I have seen some with electric.Different gearbox ratios and weaker head with smaller valves than the XT.Just a reminder WT - the motor is mine !!!!

#86 is a 86TZR with XT550, the red/green shitter is a SRX600 in a 91TZR frame and you will see a bunch of other crap including a XJ turbo and a couple of 750 4's

Congrats Jimmy. Went about $800 over my budget but good to see its going to a Wellingtonian.

We'll have to get him to join KB so he can let us know how it goes...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
