    VTR 250 minor damage

I'm trying to repair minor damage to my VTR 250. Anyone got any suggestions as to how I can make these go away?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Glen.

Apart from replacing them, you could sleeve the muffler (although it looks like it might sand out), and grind/file/sand the other items and repaint them. Even if you don't get the bike pristine again, once the worst of the gouges are gone and covered by paint, they will be less noticeable (apart from close up).

Or, you could leave them as a reminder to be more carefuller.
That's what I've done, although I'm half-expecting to do a thorough job sometime, in which all the bits will get replaced.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Most of the damage is minor cosmetic.
The muffler I would clean up by starting with 400 grit WET AND DRY sandpaper used wet--Use lots of water --Then work down to 1200 grit.
The master cylinder is a fair bit deeper.--To really clean it up you really need to sand the paint off give the body a wipe over with some body FINISHING filler to fill the grooves then sand it back smoooth and paint it black
You can turn the capon the master cylinder around so it faces backwards
The fork leg you treat like the muffler but be more gentle
The lever pivot I would be reluctant to sand back But do pull the lever out and give a a quick puff with black paint
