Mebbe that's why. I've had two pairs of Bolle sunglasses (not particularly dear - about $220 each, I think) and they've lasted YONKS. The first pair were worn nearly every day under my crash helmet, which is why they got run over, when I put them in my lap while putting on my helmet, and they slipped off and got run over (by me) when I forgot they were there. They lasted at least two years after that, before I lent them to my son who lost them. The replacements (not yet run over)have lasted about 5 years so far, and are still newish (despite being sat on more than once).
I've had cheaper glasses, of course. None lasted very long, and one of my favourite pairs (mirrored Polaroids) expired when I fumbled it one day at the skifield, and it dropped lightly onto my ski, whereupon it kinda exploded.![]()
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details
My first pair of Oakleys cost me $120 about 15 years ago. A couple of times i put too much weight on them while they were in their soft case and the arms popped out but went straight back in again. I gave them to my dad when I bought my second pair and the first pair is still going strong. When I bought the Ducati ones I gave the still perfect condition ones to my Gf and theyre still going strong too.
So all up ive spent almost a grand on sunglasses but theyre all the same as the day I bought them. No complaints.
No, it's part of that myth that all Ducatis leak oil when parked up.
Oh wait
Did you ever fix that? I can't remember.
I don't think this USB memory key will go any faster than the average USB memory key. They claim 20MB/s, but that's not really out of the ordinary with the latest ones around, and I doubt it'll come anywhere near those specs.
Anybody else thinks it looks like those white-out tape appliers with a USB socket poking out its arse?
One of the more embarrassing brand associations there, for both parties I'd imagine. Has to be right up there with those awful Acer Ferrari laptops.
Is this some kind of weird Italian marketing fad?
I imagine the USB stick would work for the first week.... (until you leave it in the back of a server somewhere)
Whereas those Acer Ferrari's come broken out of the box! (Like the rest of their range)
FYI, the local Sandisk distributor says they will have pricing on these late August, so I expect the first shipments will be here late September.
Sandisk make good sticks![]()
Yeah - it's fixed - not a Ducati specific problem. At some point in it's ancient history a chain snapped and wound round the front sprocket making a wee hole in the engine (in a less than important place) Auckland Motorcycle Surgery have fixed it all up good as new (previous repair done with kneadit).
Still reckon the sticks are overpriced coz we get suppliers givin' branded sticks out for free and you wouldn't catch me forking out ready cash just for the Ducati brand![]()

Lol I know not a Ducati specific problem, but I like taking the piss -- as I ride such a reliable, quality brand. I've never had any mechanical problems with my ride!
Yep, it's funny how some companies give away USB keys for free with their branding on it, and other companies charge people for the priviledge.
