If more people thought like this and made their thoughts heard by those vermin in government then we would have them really worried.

They rely upon our basic apathy to divide us and thereby rule us.

I too am a member of the flock but possibly one who bleats just a little louder.

How does one go about raising public outrage to the point that our "pondlife' listen. I dont know, if i did I would be trying to apply it now.

    Wait wait wait!
You folks who want Labour out, you should be wanting Benson-Pope to stay! He's a total liability and the wisest things Helen could do is fire him. You National / Act voters, you should want him in, so he can continue to embarrass the party.

    Hitcher ok!

I have to agree with 'Hitcher'. We don't get good info. on these sorts of things.
We only have the questions & replies in Kiddyville House and the media spin on this. Aren't they meant to be governing this country, not feathering their own nests at our expence. Cheers

Lunchtime is a long time in politics. Cabinet meets Monday. Watch this space...

    Yes?

Issues such as this, in conjucntion with the time frame for the next election, will be minor. National may have some words to say on Benson-Pope but Key will not dwell on his shortcomings or indeed the shortcoming of any Labour politican. If this had happened closer to the election then it's effects and the damage to Labour and Clarke would be more apparent.

In fact I would go so far as to rule out personal political issues with the next election on the grounds that Key will be wanting to promote himself as the average kiwi made good. Mudslinging and character assasanations is not the 'traditional' kiwi way.

The media will decide who will pretend to govern, the rest is just a sideshow!

    Yes?
Vote A (Labour) Vote B (National) Vote C (Act) or even Vote for one of the teeny weeny lefty selection, so what!

Will there be any real noticeable difference at the end of the day?

As usual New Zealand will continue to vote the incumbent "out" rather than vote a desirable alternative "in"!

And so the beat goes on, la la la la la lah.

To get a different result you have to do something different.

Whats different about any of the parties that "the media will offer up to you" ?

    Watch what happens! John.

Who was it who said that a lunchtime was a long time in politics?

Read the latest comment too from the State Services Commission (www.ssc.govt.nz). Most interesting, especially for those used to the subtleties of public service "code". Note the author of that as well...

Fascinating. We have yet to hear the end of this sad and sorry simmering sordid sleazy salacious saga.

Well, it looks like Aunty Helen has taken notice of our KB poll and sacked Benson-Pope. Amazing! But seriously, would'nt he have been better off just being left there to assist with the demise of the Labour Govt in the next elections??
