I've only got into donating in the past couple of years through work. Every three months the Blood Bus collects us from work and then we donate and scoff the Brumbys that they have on Tuesdays

I have no sentimental reason for donating other than wanting to do a good deed. Plus, I want to increase the chances of blood being available should I ever need it.

However the NZ Blood service would rather let a 20 year old bloke die on the operating table than take a 157/60,000,000 chance of his contracting CJD in later life.

    Heigh ho. Rant over.
Same problem here. Lived too long in the UK.

I've been on the receiving end a few times but when trying to give back they said no.

If I had of lived in France where the incedents of Mad Cow and CJD are higher than the UK but not as viual there would have been no problem.

    Oh well.
