wouldnt worry about that for a wee while, the stock tyres arent great but no point in throwing out a perfectly ok set of rubbers just to get new ones

get a long drill bit and debaffle it in the mean time, works quite well

havent looked at this myself, seems a bit costly though but probably worth it

not THAT expensive, but you do have to get two pairs

havent even found any of those for sale actually. there is a company in wellies i think that does race fairings (check trademe) and they have the mould for a whole rear section

go all the way and get an LED tail assembly, though it will set you back 250USD + shipping. or you can do a hackjob on the existing fender

all in all it might not costs as much as you think, just work it up slowly

unless you want it to look like this

Welcome and congrats on the new bike! I got the same one myself just on a week ago now (black and also from TSS) and it's been awesome. Hope to see you on some of the Welly rides.

Enjoy your new wheels puppykicker.(can i in future abbreviate it to pk?)
Heard only good things about the Hyosungs. Just stay alert, as black bikes are difficult to see, especially at night.

pk is fine by me. went for my first ride on the road last night, im bloody nervous of traffic, but ive got the feel for the bike now, its great fun to ride, plenty of power to get my slightly overweight ass moving, and real nice and smooth. im sore today though, think its gonna take me a while to get used to the riding position on a sportsbike.

i do have one problem though, i have a jacket with quite bulky shoulder armor, and between that and the chin of my helmet i cant get my head around far enough to actually see directly behind me without taking my hand off the bars. i can see the lanes on either side just fine, and i can see if anything is behind me as long as its 15m or so away, but not directly behind the bike. is this normal?

you shouldnt have to look directly behind; dont know about other but yeah i cant do that either :P. only time its probably acpplicable is when youre backing your bike but that will be at lot speeds anyways so its not a problem. i find that if i want to get a better view behind be i tend to shift my head left and right a bit so i change the viewpoints in the mirror a bit so i can see better

I've discovered that I can look directly behind me if I make an effort to stretch my neck out and tilt my chin up a bit as I turn my head, to keep my helmet out of the way of my shoulder. But that was on a bike with no mirrors, under normal circumstances you probably don't need to turn your head quite that far. Could be a useful skill though. I would recommend practising it stationary a few times. It was less than ideal having to learn on the open road on an unfamiliar bike.
