What's the most interesting thing you have carried on your bike? Weather it be pillion, pets, or objects lol...

Today I did something random. I bought two baby turtles as pets.

Havent worked out their names yet as they are still settling into their new home. The petshop gave them to me in a little box, and I put it straight down into the front of my jacket.

I got weird looks and my reply was....Im keeping them warm for the ride home followed by lots of laughs at me!

The turtles didnt seem worried.

Hmm.....can you train a turtle to be a pillion? *the mind does wonder lol!*

So thats the most interesting thing I've carried on my bike.

I carried a whole hind leg & rump of a wild boar.. bungied to my packrack!! Was frozen when I left home, & by the time I got to The Staging Post (approx 300ks) was thawing out nicely ready to be put on the open spit & roasted!!!

Five crates of longneck beer bottles (empty). Light but blaaady noisy!

Two armchairs made of cane, so they were pretty light, but heavy enough to pull the front wheel off the ground. I sat on one chair and tied the other to the back of that one, so it hung waaaay over the back wheel, maybe more than a meter?
It was a scooter, and I rode it only 2km to get home with them. Totally illegal and hazardous. This was in Taiwan, where people do strange things like that.

Yes.
They take bloody AGES to get from one side of the seat to the other. Not good when in twisties...

I remember a similar thread and Beemer had a dehumidifyer on board! Respec!

6 empty cardboard boxes! 3 concertina'd together. first 3 on the pillion seat with a bungy cord, the other 3 on top of the top box with a cargo net! and no, they were not folded down! sure kept the tail gaters at bay, thats for sure, as the load appeared insecure from the back. [but, the cords were so tight, theres no way they would have moved.]

my next goal is a full 9kg gas bottle... just cos mum reckons i cant!

another would have been either that talking tj bearytales toy, who had a warehouse bag tied to the handle on top of the box, which was then tied to my belt loop and carried home on the tank [no bungy cord] or a cabbage patch kid, who had the bag tied to the top box frame [again, no bungy cord!]

An aluminum non-folding bike ramp. Borrowed one from a bike shop to get my Vmax on and off a trailer to take it home from the shop, but ran out of time with the car before I could get the ramp back to the hop.
So I just slipped it between me and my backpack through the shoulder straps on an angle downward from right to left and rode my other bike back to the shop.
Got some interesting looks especially when I started filtering.

I've had a folding table, tent, Pikachu, bedroll and all the other bits of camping stuff on the back of mine! The most interesting was Pikachu - never fails to bring up a discombobulated look from the general motor vehicle populace when he whizzes by on the back ... kids go ballistic, drivers do double-takes, pedestrians stare and point and I just chortle merrily!

the daftest and probably the stupidest at the time was a pair of crutches!

i had got out of hospital that day after breaking my leg two weeks before! it wasnt in plaster (pins, plates, etc) so i could bend it, but i wasnt allowed to put any weight on it for 6 months!

Mrs H is by far and away the most interesting thing I have ever carried on a motorcycle. No contest.

A 6x4 flag off the back of the bike waving in the wind up and down the motorway

Set of crutches
10 litre bucket of paint
Painting sheets/blankets and paint tray, brushes etc etc etc
Weedkiller sprayer container
Food shopping

But not all at once thou

2 weeks shopping is a challenge! Plastic bags only last for a 10 min ride before things start wanting to fall out on to the road!

Plastic bags were loaded up on the mirrors, and rear helmet hooks 2 bags per hook at the front and 3 per rear lol.
