Alpine earplugs. Retail:$49. Has anyone tried these?

As someone already said they do need a bit of practice and I have had one stuck in my ear briefly. In my case pliers weren't necessary a longish finger nail sorted it.

ah... yes... I screwed up and did this too. I got them in real good. Then I struggled to get it out. Got them in after the stop, real good again, but did such I good job I had to use pliers to get one out, and had blocked the ears with the crap I'd pushed together.

Was deaf as a post for 3 days, until my ears were syringed

Had 2 set of Alpines in the past.

I am put off by the price.

My last set the silicon went a bit stiff and it stopped working.

I bought some purple silicon reusable ear plugs from safety store and modified them. Now they work like a new set of Alpines for $5 instead of the ripoff $50.

earplugs pffft i like to hear my bike, used earplugs for a while just cheapies...but were a pain in the arse to get in and out of my ear...i'd use em on long trips still though......

but putting them in i suck at it...and i kept loosing them lol

.... the custom made ones 'get you there' in comfort without the 'riders headache or buzz'. Twisted in and twisted out to conform with your inner ear shape, makes for a reliable fit each time. We have made the plugs for race-riders, who have come back and said they can actually hear their bike performance better as the plugs cut out the background noise of other bikes etc. We'll be making earplugs at Motomail College Hill on Sept 15th if you want to call in and check them out.
