South Island - Staging Post do (7-8 December)

Well we got asked more than once if we are going to this at the Birthday Party for KB.

Unfortunately SDU is working so can not make it, but is trying to get the Magpie weekend off.
For the rally and the main reason is we want to go down South to say good bye to a friend and help spread that friends ashes on the Sunday.

I will weather permitting do at least a day trip to the Staging Post on the Saturday.
You knows I may stay. (can I Boss?)

So I could hook up with any Southern bikes heading up or could go around the block and meet up with the West Coast route riders.
As this goes passed my old friends house. (sounds real good at this moment)
But it is going to be strange not to pop in for a chat.

Might shoot up the West Coast and across Lewis Pass meself.

Taking Friday off, early start and spending the night in Greymouth sounds like a good plan to me.
I'll bet Greymouth goes off on a Friday night.

Oooooo...what to wear, what to wear!!!!

And can I tag along across the Lewis with you?
What time do you think that you guys will be leaving Greymouth on Saturday?

I will have to leave early to meet up with you guys and I was thinking that you would not be leaving until about 9-10 O'clock

So I would leave home at about 6 and should get there in 3 hrs.

That should plenty early enough I would think.
It should only take, what, 3.5-4 hours to get to The Gathering?

That's about right and you will have a bit of time for a look at anything on the way though the Lewis. (lunch etc)

Well I have the friday off... and monday to get back... May ride up with Tom... or the coast or, the middle, or... or... (brain overload... warning brain overload)

no... she has work on sunday monday... she (hopefully) going to the Magpie and the Long Drop rallies tho

CB and I struggling to get much of the Friday off but will persist.

The reason we're going straight up SH1 (at this stage) is because we're going to spend the next 5 or so days after the Staging Post event cruising up around Nelson/Motueka catching up with family and friends. (Yes, I have friends)
