Hi Jen
I see they are having a protest run on the 3rd up Nth to get rid/modify the "cheese cutters"
will there be an organized run in Nelson that day?
I would be a starter
cheers Keith

Heya.. great to catch up with you guys too.. in the rain & all.. Did you's have a good trip home??
Heya Keith.. Just phoned the rally organisers.. & they have no knowledge of any protest ride being organised here.. (& they are linked to a big bike shop here) so they would be in the know IF one was happening..
Also.. no Thunder Run this year..
Jen

Eeeeeeeeeekkkkkkk so close.
Damn this time next week it'll be just one eeny weeny sleep to go. And ya gotta be wishing for the sunshine and calm of today for the weekend.
Even for this Sat night the weather would be apprecaited fftopic:
Yeah that thunder run was cool last year.
You know a run up over the Takaka or up to the Spit would be sweet on Sat if the weather is doing the good thing.
who's going friday am meet at Hurunui pub go rainbow or tar seal easy either way

would be good dangerous , 2 of us are going thru the lewis on friday , planning on having one of those BIG all day breakfast/lunch at murch hotel, and on to the site for a good spot. We would be keen to join in, if your leaving mid morning'ish and making the compulsory stops along the way . I promise no bitching this time
You won't going or coming via Rainbow. I spoke to the station yesterday about getting access for the weekend and was told that there was a slip a week ago which probably won't be repaired by rally weekend, also there's heavy snow at Island Pass (near Lake Tennyson) which they reckoned we wouldn't get through either. I also tried to arrange access through Molesworth, but was declined due them already having a push bike event on that weekend and having to arrange their work around this and not wanting us in there at the same time.
I'll be leaving Christchurch at 3pm on the Friday and heading straight to the rally (tar all the way). I love to get away earlier but my mate on his KLR650 can't get away from work before that
Saturday - we'll do a day ride somewhere, probably over Maungatapu and ............ ? Somewhere else - dunno where yet? :spudwhat: The start time on Saturday will depend on how Friday night goes Saturday wasn't too flash last year
Sunday - home via Wakefield, back roads to St Arnaud, Rotoroa, Porika track, Maruia Saddle. Plans are very loose at this stage, but planning to spend all day getting home away from the black top as much as possible.
You're welcome along on as much of this as you want, some for anyone else ...
