    I binned my bike

So I'm coming through from ranui I come to the roundabout guy in a Blue Hilux in front of me indicating right to Henderson me going into Universal Drive. follow the hilux round and he swung right and I got onto the gas and then he unexpectedly swung left and pushed me close to the curb....long story short hit some gravel and the dip in the gutter, handle bars flicked out and I low sided; skidded along the road and bounced up onto the middle verge.

Hilux drove off...I'm nursing a knee wound on left leg, grazing and sprain on right ankle.

Big up's to the guy in the OCC shirt who got my bike up to the other side of the road and was ready to organise a towie. (I ended up nursing the bike back to work)

    Lesson learnt:
Wear all protective gear including pants...jeans don't do shit

So I'm going to sort out my bike soon...fortunatly its mostly cosmetic damage...apart from the forks. That and my misses is adamant I have to sell the bike. Can see this point being a source of friction in the near future

Crikey! Good to hear all is relatively well with you! Scenarios could play out so differently huh?

Ah well, hope your bruises aren't too bad ... but I guess you're right about the missus SWMBO will definitely be bringing this issus up all the time!

So is the bike not too badly off?

I hope not, only could give it a cursory inspection at work...it's still there.

I'm thinking a set of forks and some painting...and a footpeg that got ripped off.

Then theres the jacket, helmet, and boots that got trashed

Well better the gear then you right? At least you know what to get and expect in gear now!

Chalk it up to experience and get shopping! Quasi is having a sale on now!

sorry to hear about your bin mate glad you didnt get any serious injuries and the two wheeler mainly cosmetic, As for your missus don't let her talk you into getting rid of the bike, more importantly try getting her involved in the wonderful world of motorcycling!!

i binned on friday on my way to work... had a people mover pull out in front of me up near wairau road it was either hit the car or traffic islands....
i took the hit grabbed the front of my bike and it rolled on top of me.
least to say he took off i was lying on the road dislocated shoulder bit dazed but im happy bike only got little scratches and i got morphine and a day off work!
pissed i have to buy a new helmet tho
I've learnt to hide the pain inside, open the throttle and ride away.

If I ever see someone run from an accident (involving a bike or not) I'm going to give chase and I'll need to be restrained when I catch the wankers.

I heard in South Africa people cause accidents to get you to stop so they can car-jack you but there's no excuse for not stopping in NZ especially when someone is clearly injured.

Great to hear you're both alive and not tooooooo badly hurt.

Good, if it's in a busy area i'd much rather someone hunted the bastards down and wait a little while longer to get saved. If it's in the middle of nowhere then that would be a different story. I like revenge
