I've got the bike all fixed up now, mechanically. Cosmetics, that's another story

    Amit,

I haven’t been signing into KB as much recently so have just learned of your bin. I am very glad that you came through and have little doubt that you will have learnt a great deal.

In some ways I knew this would happen, not because you had bought the CBR (although I wasn’t exactly ecstatic when I heard) but because everyone I know has dropped their bike at some point, some more seriously than others.

The thing that I would take out of this is that in order to improve your skills you need to ride and you need to listen to those that have ridden for a long time. Put all of that into practise and you will be better for it.

That said, I am glad to see that you are out there and doing it and with a great bunch of people as well. Stick with those guys and I am sure your skills will steadily improve. In fact I am kind of impressed that you have come so far in such a short amount of time. SH22 group ride is on another planet compared with the local carpark.

In the interim I would strongly suggest that you take R6kid’s advice and check the frame, I would bet his left one that you could have a problem.

Cheers. I've had the blokes over at spectrum check it out, and they said that the main frame is alright, but the subframe is a bent. No worries though, I've got one coming in the mail .

U1AGO helped me out. Had access to a truck. Got it to spectrum, they checked it out, said it was sweet, fixed the smashed brake lever and front right indicator, and I rode it back.

Plastics are gonna have to wait. I'm waiting on my new Tinted Screen, subframe, and rear side panels to arrive. I then have to sort out my mirror-holding-bracket, and then sort out the right hand mirror (left one is sweet)

Hmmmm I've got BT021 on the front and BT020 on the back. They are a bit hard so I don't push it in the wet. I could get soft 'hoon' tyres like some of the fast boys but then I'd square them off in a month (I commute 250km Southern motorway every week).

If I was a fair weather biker or weekend only biker then soft sticky rubber would be the order of the day.

Is your bike your only mode of transportation?

    what size tires are they?

Try some P Strada's they are really good for the dry and wet.

I had pirelli strada's and thought they were fucking useless for the wet, infact, I would go as far to say that they were the worse than Shinko's.

Now I have Avon roadrider/roadrunner's and haven't had one single worrying moment in the wet. For a fraction of the price too.

The guys at cycletreads reckon my rear tyre is real good, but the front is shithouse.
