    Aprilia Alterbator Removal

I have an Aprilia Falco and the starter's sprag clutch has failed. In order to replace it I have to remove the alternator, the sprag is bolted to the inside of that. The alternator is held in by a large bolt, a big sucker that is supposedly loosened by a 14mm allen key.

The alternator bolt is additionally secured with Loctite 648.

Following the instructions I have heated the bolt's head to beyond blistering point but still can't get it to budge. The only way I can see to lock the crank is by putting the bike in gear and holding the drive with the rear brake. Even so, there is so much slack in the drive line that I cant get the bolt to break loose.

Getting pretty frustrated! Anyone got any experience with getting one of these suckers off an Aprilia?

None with your bike but plenty with similar situation.
I would slide a bar over the swingarm through the wheel and use that to brace your swinging on the bolt. Sometimes a rattle gun is the answer

you using a powerbar with a allen key fitting or a usual allen key? You will have no luck with a normal allen key, grab a allen fitting bit for your power bar and use that if you arnt already.
    You are a fuckface.

Wouldn't put a bar through the wheel myself ! but its your life if it cracks one of the braces or rim . But an impact driver with a cut down Allen key would be alot safer . Try looking round here also
