    Trolley rage

After going to Pak N Sav for a quick shop i noticed a few things

    1. Are there ppl on benefits from WINZ ripping the system?

I'll explain, i was surveying the checkouts to see which i should go down as all had a que of 3 trolley's or more till i found one that only had one trolley been scanned so i thought" sweet should be out of here soon" so i got in line and waited like i patient man i am and then without warning the bird ahead stepped backwards and hit my trolley which gave me a fright and caused me to back up one step and in turn hitting the trolley of a lovely sweet gal behind me so i asked her if she is ok and told her i was sorry and she said " thats ok not your fault" and then smiled at me.

After being in line for about 10 minutes i noticed the person in front was paying for her groceies with a WINZ food grant and was told by the cashier that she was over the approved price limit and in her shopping was a packet of ciggies and meat. One would think you'd take out the ciggies and keep meat but no she opted to keep them and return meat but to my surprise she pulls out a reddie($100 note) and pays for the meat with it. surely she could afford to pay for food instead of flashing reddies around.

    2. Trolley eta tic

Trying to battle thru the aisles i was getting jammed by ppl who probably can't even drive their cage's let alone trolleys with ppl driving on the right and park trolley's where ever. If ppl drove their trolley's on the left and apply road rules to shopping it would be a better place i was forced to push my way thru.

    Rant over

    Take care and ride safe

    Big DAN

Something odd there....I didn't think that WINZ vouchers were accepted for anything but the simple basic necessities? Mince would comply, but not the better cuts. And certainly not tobacco or beers.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

WINZ vouchers arent supposed to be allowed to buy booze or ciggies, but you can buy what ever food you like on them. Back when I was working checkouts it was quite normal to have this type of people buying mussels, oysters etc on vouchers them pulling out cash to pay for smokes and beer

i dont give away my taxes... they are removed without my permission.

bene wasters are another reason why, at my bp at least, you have to spent AT LEAST half of a petrol voucher. got a $10 voucher? spend at least $5, and so on. we had people trying it on for a .40c box of matches with a $20 voucher.

Good on her ppl like this bloke are a disgrace for the human race what is with the take take take and instaed of putting back into the comunitty or helping out those less fortunate. There are ppl that are struggling to get food due to things out of there control like death or injury to the money earner.

    BIG RESPECT to Mrs V

the bloke was only want achocol and smokes

I worked at WINZ once upon a time. Supermarkets would ring us fairly often and ask if this person was allowed to buy tobacco, alcohol, oysters, toys or magazines. We'd always answer "no, just the basics. What you'd expect to find in a food parcel or careful family's cupboard."
I don't know if that had any basis in law or policy, but that's what we'd tell the supermarkets when they called.

Had to get a couple of those WINZ food things as a student while doing my nursing studies. Now back then there was no way you could use them to purchase alcohol or ciggies/tobacco. I doubt that WINZ has changed the rules because the gubbermint would come down on them soooooo hard if they had. I'd suspect that the checkout operator made a stuff up. Sounds dodgey that the swine had a hundred note yet still gained a food grant. I only got them when I could no longer rob Peter to pay Paul...
