Toy run was good, weather brilliant, about 300 bikes, went from Hawera to NP and back, pulled out at Hawera as piss up to go to tonight.First time on it,worked last year, awesome feeling as the bikes left, and waving to the kids.
Few nice ranges of bikes, good to sit on 100-110km,but get the odd person passing and slowing down, closing the group up,couple of gn riders annoyed me,forgetting to watch mirrors, then veering left and guys in left having to brake, causing several to brake and chain reaction, was ok most of the time, quickies went passed, usually caught them though, due to traffic or similar.
Neat to see the bikes lined up waiting to go,heaps of them to see.Very impressive to start, great feeling to be part of a worthy cause.![]()

Anyone heard any details on the wanganui toy run ? just saw an advert in the paper about it saying that its at wanganui racecourse on the 9th of December at 12pm....? also anyone planning on attending it ?
O thats right Coast to Coast is on same weekendhmmm i might do both ,just wondering whether the wanganui toy run will be any good, and if they'll have a decent ride thought out not just a gathering
ahh and found a cool highway (that id never heard about before lol) called the surf highway ... alot more fun than the usual drag from hawera to new Plymouth aye did the wanganui to new plymouth today via the surf highway there and back which was something new for me ,and the old man took his new hornet lol bloody fast, almost made me have second thought ...almost
Damn pissed us off we missed you,but we got to start about 10-15 mins till they took off.
The Surf Highway(don't we put cool names for our highways?)is great, from Opunake to NP is good, longish straights then a few twisties, that is part of the itinery I was suggesting if the Manawatu guys stayed in Hawera for the weekend. Will try and get a few to do a run around the coast and up the mountain, great views and coffee so I've been told.
Went and got petrol about 30-40 mins before leaving and did a loop of the town, had I done that 15 mins later would have seen your bikes and called over. You have been too long with Al getting the coffee bit.
Working next weekend so since I had last 2 weeks off the weather has been brilliant, hope I don't jinx it by working.
