I was going to say those roads look just like the Takaka Hill. I'm in for the FH anytime and I'll dress for the occasion this time

might be a bit of a plan brewing when the weather/funds clear up a bit. I am in the planning of a kawhia lunch trip and return through the forgotten highway but was kinda planning on doing it in one day.

On normal peoples overnighter they setup a tent and have a sleep not just ride all night....... handy tip for the future.

If your keen on the overnighter, why don't you go north to south,Awakino gorge and pub there is good for a break,or at Mokau, head inland at Ahititi towards Ohura, and stop at Whanga the night.Next day whilst nursing a full belly and sore head a cruisy ride home, could encompass the Plateau in Stratford, and around to Dawson Falls for good measure, then a blat to Manaia and Surf Highway through Hawera to home.Need to organise rooms at the pub even in winter as shitloads of campervans still inhabit the area.Off hand is $95 per person dinner, bed and brekkie. But with the good clear days you end up with frosts around and odd foggy areas, which no sun get to thaw the frost, carefull if early starts.Check your local info centre they should have a flyer on the Whanga,F/Highway area.Off hand the website could be www.whangamomonahotel.co.nz.

He will no doubt be on the same trial as my friend Gayle who broke hers in December. She is on good form now so hopefully the same for Mowgli

Great news but if you can have an MRI have one, knees very very important I can show you how to test it next time we catch up. Neat trick I learnt a few years ago
