You didn't miss much over the Akatarawa's, as it was loaded with cyclists

and probably the slowest 30km I've ever travelled. The Rimutaka's were fun and a heap of bikes in the carpark. Found a cool stretch of road the other side of Mauriceville, though it only looped back to the main highway. Nice solo day out!
