Make sure that you get your own "Pre Accident Valuation" You can get them from any reputable dealer. Insurance Assessors Valuations normally come in on the low side, you should be able to use yours to push theirs up, or make them get a third and apply an average to them all.
Now I really am a Bonnie girl

The pre-crash valuation less excess and any premiums owing sets the maximum payout. So it's in their interests to estimate the pre-crash value down.

You may be offered the wreck as part of the payout. Obviously the higher the value they place on the wreck the less cash goes with it. Sometimes it's better to take all the cash then buy the wreck back at auction for much less. Main advantage of taking the wreck as part of settlement is that the bike remains registered. If you buy back at auction it will have been written off.

Oh yeah, if you don't take the wreck as settlement then make sure it is de-registered with effect from the date you are paid out. If you don't and the rego lapses you'll be hit up for unpaid rego DAMHIK
