Gotta say i'm pretty happy with the 14 other than the suspension (but I have that issue with all standard bikes to one degree or another) but if Yamaha built the new R1 about 20% bigger with a slightly less prone riding position i'd be riding one I reckon.

Because you have to be classy to own a Yamaha, pre-requisite to owning any of the truly cool Yamaha's...

It was a hard case indeed, seems the art of parallel parking has been lost to most people..

I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

Well, we're home from getting the Bonne's first service at Motorad in Wellington. Quiet ride down, but the weather turned a little bleak before Otaki. Pretty sad considering it was mint in Palmy when we left at 8.00am.

The service was underway by 10.30am and we got a call at 11.30am to say it was ready. A quick walk back, payment sorted and a new pair of summer gloves for me and we were back on the road.

Traffic was a bit heavier coming home and it was fairly windy. We stopped at Otaki and filled up with fuel, though strangely after 218k, my fuel light hadn't yet come on. I guess riding slower has a major impact on economy, as it would only take 12.37ltr, which equates to 5.67ltr/100km.

I decided after Otaki to pick up the pace a bit and all went well till I hit Shannon. I came around the sharp left-hander into Ballance St a little over 50kph, only to find two police officers standing on the road stopping traffic. Routine licence, WOF, rego check and I was back on my way.

I took the long route via Linton and made it home only about 5 minutes before Tracy. FMS!
