So whos going to the Cold Duck and whos got spare tent space... sonic?

Decided as its my last 8 weeks in the country as a Resident I had better man up and attend one of these things. Been to the Cold Kiwi twice to do an MX jump demo on the Waiouru track but not actually stayed and gotten drunk or anything.

I'll need guidance and I promise no wheelies or lame attempts at stunt riding that will just embarrass us all. Who's keen to show me the light and maybe babysit me?

what goes around comes around, just found some replacement forks for mine (ZXR400) so will pick them up to see if they will swap, and also made an offer on a CBR600F3 shock for it too, and yeh I know it won't bolt straight on, that why I guesstimated I could add a linkage to the non-linked SSSA.

progress on my other projects just got a lot slower

Should be interesting fitting zxr forks up, would you use the whole front end? I have been told that the 600f3 front springs and 10 weight fluid [if memory serves correct] will sort the slappy problems. But, I imagine a USD front end will be a massive improvement, in looks too. Twin brakes!

I went in to see that ZXR yesterday, the owner took it off the showroom floor. I'm attempting to contact the owner as he only wanted $3500 and the shop wanted a $500 commision.

sneaky bastige eh, cut out the middle man!pics of my mates ZXR

nah, don't have the wheel and brakes from it, so would see if those bits from the bros are compatible, may look for a zxr wheel in long term though, twin brakes would be cool!

Twin brakes are a brilliant aquisition, I thought my bros650 lacked somewhat in the brakes. The spada was even worse. The Bros had braided front and rear lines and I think they make a great difference.

    I'm buggered if I'm paying a middle man =D
ZXR250 looks good! I could rock that

I should have the $3500 in my hand tomorrow. If not will be before tuesday. I hate waiting for cheques. I'll happily pay $3500 with a wof/rego and tank of gas [that's an arm twist] and I would pick it up.

yeh, my electric has twins (not braided lines though), and the bros has a big single with braided lines, so will compare the two, and my CR has a little single but heaps of stopping power and feel, and my VT has the infamously crap honda inboard discs. Though I'll probly replace the brake fluid soon-ish, as they take quite a while to engage on the bros.

Yeh $500 is a pretty decent saving, let me know if you're keen to look at my mates one, should be able to set something up.

I'm keen on it. Love the colour and I have only had one Kwaka.

Look into using DOT5.1 synth fluid, I have used it and found lot's less brake fade on that scum bag spada when tootleing over the Pahiatua Track

said he will do wof and brakes next week, he wasn't planning on getting much reg for it though, so may be better for you to buy with it on hold (price would drop to 3400) and just put a year on it to delay the increases a bit longer

Being a tight walleted chap I would prefer for it to have a small amount of Rego on it. But, we can't have everything =P I'm pretty happy with that kind of deal. Am just hunting around to see what else is out there, but, not many zxr/cbr in my price range.
95 would have been the 40hp model wouldn't it?

its the C version which is 45hp , and he can do 3months rego for 3500, or on hold for 3400

Didn't they get restricted to 40hp in 1993? Or was that just the MC22 CBR? I've found a neat A model in Palmy , but, I can certainly justify the extra $200+rego to get a C model. I can't be too much of a Jew haha =D

yeh, well worth the upgrade, he's not sure if its restricted, but is a jap import so almost certainly is.

It was law after 93 as far as I'm aware to only have 40hp. Which is dumb. The unrestricted ones will rev limit just after 20krpm I think. Been a while since I have been on a zxr. Red line is around the 19k mark?
