Have found air leaks galore on the Kawabigbum. Hopefully I shall have them sorted tomorrow.
The slides 1, 2 and 4 were lifting slow as hell and 3 was sticking.

got the mid-pipe sorted at massey yesterday, gotta get through it all now that I'm down to unreliable, or unlicensed transportation!

just jammy a heap of liquid gasket in there, and some crc for the slides, job done!

If need be you could use one of my bikes? My flat mate is grabbing a 5mm allen thingy on a socket for me from his work today so I can get the stupid intakes off, apparently they have O-rings in the and I imagine they are missing.

Can't wait to hear the BROS! It's going to make me want my one back I bet...

cheers for the offer, but only need to make a few trips round town or to massey and vannage can handle that as long as there sin't any checkpoints or overzealous parking wardens (i thought yours weren't rego'd anyways?). Yeh it sounds pretty good, be even better when it's tuned and all the leaks plugged with maniseal

yeh missing or split o-rings can be a bastard to track down

Fair point, i have no rego on either, unless rego-hold counts?
I got the rubbers off, they had leaks where the CRC got in when I was trying to find all the unsealed bits. Cleaned everything, dried it all and have put sealant on the lot. Will smack it together in an hour or two and see if I have won!

    good luck!

pulled out and re-jetted my carbs today, 142/138 to 165/160 mains now, so 35% increase in jet area, wonder how many ponys that'll translate to, am hoping for a wheelstanding amount just have to mount the battery and other electricals now, then start testing the jetting. Still idles and revs alright so can't be too far off, gets very raspy and loud on overrun though.

That's a massive leap in jet sizes! I went from 95/98 to 100/102 on the CB and just need to lift the needles a tiny bit, I haven't bothered though, it's terrible to work on.
Ahhh I bet it sounds the tits!

yeh I suspect it may have been a bit lean before cos it was making more power than stock, but with the stock jetting.

Good God, how extreme! That's just a tiny bit less than my BROS was making...Time for cams and a big bore kit?
Manifold rubbers are sealing now. But, it's still acting like it has a very small intake leak. Buuuuuuut, I am a bit suss about the air filter element, it's a foam type and I doubt original, it also needs to be oiled (anyone have any oil?)
It doesn't drop revs very fast below 2500-700ish now and still feels a bit off up the top and the throttle is a wee bit hesitant. Pulls a shit load better than before though, but, the CB will still outpace it in it's sleep.
