Holy double post batman!!!

Anyone got a 180/55-17 they want to sell? Anything considered as it only has to last a week and will die a worthy death on Vid at the Slipway.

yeh after hours of searching the reg etc, think i've come to the conclusion its down to the 20% as its the same block and head. I can't find any details bout the 1990 horsepower, but the 86 had 65kw and the galant had 77kw (its only SOHC) so an increase of 18% The wof guys know it's been swapped and sent me round to the cert guy to get an exemption note if one applies, cert guy said it'd be over the 20% rule, and a general rule is if it doesn't come out in that variant it needs a cert, the later is total bullshit according to the regs though. Technically you can't put a larger size engine into a vehicle even if that chassis came out with the engine configuration, or swap from a petrol to diesel, but it's pretty hard for the wof station to pick up on that which is why most reckon it's legit I guess.
So hopefully i'll work it out tomorow.

got it's wof today, went back to the same cert guy but he was all about the minor technicalities that would make it require a cert and didn't want to write me a note, also he was a complete asshole. Apparently if you change the engine block (could be the one that came off the line right behind it) and increase the power even the smallest bit (even put a high flow air filter on it) you need it certed, but if it's still the specific engine it came out with from factory its all good. So it's a good thing I put the same block back in it when I did the EFI conversion Anyway, went and showed the wof guy the reg and engine specs and he said all good, will keep em in the glove box for next time!

Used to have a mate in palmy with a mig, bastard moved away though.

hmmm, the guy following you who gets hit with various lumps of bog and/or panelwork? but yeh, the whole system is overregulated to the point of stupidity, so as long as you know what you're doing there's nothing wrong with pulling the wool over the testers eyes, half of them probly turn a blind eye to it if it aint overly obvious/dangerous anyway I reckon.
