Agreed. A proper system (like on the Connie - pretty sure there's more to it than a couple of fittings

) does increase braking distances if it kicks in.
I've had it kick in on rough roads (corrugations coming into a corner) which is pretty scary as all of a sudden there's no braking (really only for a fraction of a second but it doesn't feel nice). I'd still rather have it than not as the Connie's brakes are awesome and the ABS has also possibly saved an embarrassing moment in the wet...
Maybe if we had better roads...
