Saw a poor sod just binned off his scooter on the way to work this morning, looked like there may have been a car involved but no way of telling who was at fault, probably low/no-speed off from where he was positioned and the intersection involved.

No gloves, normal shoes, trousers, jersey,

at least he had a helmet on. He looked really fucking sore, limping badly, hands were pwned.

Maybe he'll invest in a bit of protection now.

Yeah so many scooter riders seem to forget that falling off a scooter at 50kph hurts just as much as falling of a bigger bike at 50 kph!

Exactly.

I suspect he may have been riding along in the cycle lane (like so many scooterists/scootarians do), and got cutoff by a van turning into a driveway....only a guess though, I got there a split second after it happened.

And last couple of nights have you seen the shell rebranding add,the 2 people in suits hop on a scooter and enjoy the ride etc,no wonder people riding them think that's all the gear required (a helmet,usually open faced).
