My goal for the Friday and Saturday was to relax, have fun and stay upright. I got 2 outta 3, not bad
Test day 17th August:
Got there with plenty of time, signed in and checked the bike over.
In the first session I had forgot to strap my kick start leaver back in, so it kept folding down every right corner and my fourth gear was sticking.
I called into pits and strapped my kick starter up, had a bit of a think about what was happening with the gears and decided there was nothing I could do apart from paying more attention to what gear I'm in and very firmly pushing the gear lever into 5th. So it wasn't such a bad thing as I do need to pay more attention to which gear I'm in any way
I went back out and things slightly improved.
In the second session I wanted to work on relaxing and being as smooth as I can, so I started off really slow, but with being relaxed and smooth it made me quicker
After lunch we went on to the full track, so I was interested in seeing what that was going to be like.
Session 3: I almost forgot that we had changed to the long track, good thing somebody was in front of me who knew where they were goingWent out in the dry but by about half way through it started raining (I think it was in this session). It was my first time ever riding on the track in hard rain... it was SO much fun
kicks ass compared to drizzly weather.
Session 4: My knees are pretty weak so by this stage they were startin to get a bit sore so I decided to go out for a few laps and then come back in. So went out, had some fun, and then came back in a few laps before checkered flag.
Overall... I really enjoyed the day, especially the long track and rain
Thanks to all the marshals and organizers who made this day, especially the long track, possible
Will type up the race report a bit later on in the day...........
