    Aj's race report vic Rd4

it all started with a wet thursday night... loaded up the van and trailer.. full of bike stuff.. oh and luke ( well he was there when i arrived anyway!)

on friday, i was givin the chance to trial out some new tyres from the Conti.. the Conti-go...

these are not rated for the speeds that the RG's can POTENTIONALY do... (rated at 150ks, but you have to do that for 10kms!!!not gona happen on manfeild!)

there i was rain pouring down ... brand new tyres... scrubbing them with brake clean..!!!!!!!!!

i went out.... was riding worse than a man in a hat!!!.. in a white van!!!

calling me a nana would have been prasing me!!!...

but i slowly sped up till i had a BIG "holy shit" moment at higgin's.... slowed for a bit but worked out that it was ONLY at higgin's that the bike was slipping...( oh and the white line's that glen found)

second session i got luke to go out ( he was using the TT900's and sliding them in the wet on perpose) i told him that they were the new tyres and to got slow till he was happy.... he lapped me ( i was on his bike)... he came into the pits.. saying " i cannot get the tyres to slide like the TT900's!!!!"

    smart little so and so..

i went out in the 3rd and 4th sessions.... i managed to get about 2 lapps in the dry....till the heavens opened up...

i managed to increase my entry speed into the front straight from 90km/hr to 110km/hr by the end of the day... in the rain

    race day...
    i suck... qualified 11th i think...
still getting used to the tyres on a dry track!!!!.. that is my excuse and i'll stick to it!

the black flag in qualifying????? no-one could see who it was for and so everyone came in... like i said to nasty... this is the class to find these sort of problems ( not being able to see the number that was being called in)

    2nd race..

seamed like everyone except for the over 30's were falling off!! or riding over each other!...
but this race was my best... i have no idea, yet, where i came... do i care??? hell NO!... why should i?... i had the most enjoyable time on the race track for some time, did i get any faster ?? who knows... did i scare myself.... just enough to enjoy the rush!!! i even "yahoo'ed going into the far hair pin when i had out braked myslef!!!

what a race...i managed to over take the one guy that i alway wanted to, he is better than me ( ok, ok .. who isn't?) i went around the outside of him...

fixing steph's bike between races kept me away from the pit wall... did i mind? no... as it ment that she could get out there and have another go!!...( i ment, another go at racing ... not falling off!)

what a great couple of days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i managed to get my entry into the front straight up to..........112km/hr... in the dry....
that is how good i found the tyres in the WET

    what a ride so far!!!!
